1、The development of duplex stainless steel
In some petrochemical plants with chloride, sulfide, acetic acid, formic acid and other media, the general austenitic stainless steel is difficult to prevent stress corrosion (SCC), pitting and cave-type sectional corrosion. Duplex stainless steel with high strength and high corrosion resistance was created for these types of application.

3、Weldability analysis of duplex stainless steel
The weldability of duplex stainless steel has the advantages of both austenic steel and ferritic steel, with reduced disadvantages of both sides.

4、Common base plate and welding consumable for duplex stainless steel
There are many types of duplex stainless steel, but the most common type in engineering is 2205(00Cr22Ni 5Mo3N), which is about 80%, while super duplex stainless steel SAF 2750(00Cr25Ni7Mo4N), takes about 13%.
Most of the corresponding welding consumables includes: E2307, E2209, E2553, E2594, E312 in manual electrode, gas shielded wire, argon gas TIG rod, submerged arc wire, and flux-cored wire.
5、Notes on welding duplex stainless steel
Strictly control the interpass temperature (< 150 ℃) and welding line energy, control the cooling rate, get the appropriate phase proportion, and prevent the generation of harmful metal phase;
Suitable for multilayer welding, the consideration of welding method should incorporate the multilayer requirement: multilayer and low deposition rate, try to operate with short arc, no weaving or slight weaving, fast welding speed;
